In the organizer's words:
Quintessenz is a jazz duo founded in Hamburg in 2018, consisting of Martin Kiehl (piano) and Robert Müller (drums, percussion, double bass). The compositions of the two musicians combine jazz, classical music, world music and minimal music and interweave into a dynamic, complex, exciting program with calm and highly energetic phases. The duo will be accompanied by the Colombian double bass player and composer Jair Gonzalez. The musician is a graduate of the Conservatory of the National University there. He specializes in jazz and has played with many important musicians on the jazz scene on the biggest stages in Bogota.
