Konzert: Steve and Julie swing like hell (Jazz/Swing)

Steve Wiseman and Julie Silvera are two of Hamburg's most influential American expat jazz musicians. Both are successful bandleaders and promote a very American style of swinging jazz. Both have performed with the internationally renowned Lionel Hampton Big Band, and when they come together here, their styles fit together perfectly. The performance becomes a dialog between vocals and trumpet and the audience experiences the joy the musicians take in playing swinging jazz.

Julie Silvera tours extensively throughout Europe, has played at every major venue in Hamburg and is a much sought after tutor. Steve Wiseman has been a major player in the NYC jazz scene for over 25 years and has performed with every major big band in NYC, from the Duke Ellington Orchestra to the Glenn Miller Orchestra. In Eppendorf during Covid times, Steve became known locally for playing with his band in Haynes Park while the clubs were closed for more than a year.

The band includes Jean Yanochkin (Ukraine) piano, Felix Behrends (bass) and Moritz Hamm (drums).
