Women on Wheels: Wow is Passion. Wow is Feeling. Wow is Fun. Wow create fictitious female roles in the cosmic space of light. They question clichés and are resistant to external opinions. By performing in front of an audience, they question themselves, deliberately deconstructing gender roles and stereotypical classifications. Wow captures all these free characters through their spherical, simple psychedelic post-punk, in which there is room for imperfection.
We are Kara: four personalities, four timbres - one common language: music.
"We" are the jazz students Raphaela Okle (the singing guitar fairy), Andreas Riester (the groovy bass master), Georg List (the virtuoso keyboard dancer) and Samuel Seltmann (the drumming whirlwind from Saarbrücken). Together we are Kara - a band that pushes stylistic boundaries with a joy of playing and creates its very own sound. Our music is like a good cocktail: We combine soul, pop and funk with a fine pinch of jazz - sometimes playful, sometimes edgy, but always with feeling. The result is a sound that cannot be pigeonholed, but is guaranteed to be catchy. Our songs tell stories that are taken from life: honest, approachable and sometimes dreamy. It's about big feelings, small moments, departures and arrivals. We play with dynamics, harmonies and energy - and invite our audience
to find themselves in our sounds and lyrics.
