Kosmischer Mittwoch: Der Sternenpark Westhavelland – Wundervolle Nacht vor unserer Haustür

From our cities, we can no longer see the natural night sky in all its glory: Intense and incorrectly installed lighting outshines most of the stars - experts refer to this as light pollution. Fortunately, however, there is a place on Potsdam's doorstep where we can observe the wonders of the cosmos undisturbed: Westhavelland has been home to an internationally recognized "star park" since 2014. Thomas Becker, an employee at the Westhavelland Nature Park and astronomical guide in Brandenburg and around the world, explains what characterizes a star park and what you can experience in Westhavelland. He is also a passionate astrophotographer: he brings the wonders of the night sky to Potsdam with wonderful photos from the star park.
