Introduction and rehearsal visit. If you would like to know what to expect from our new productions and upcoming concerts before the premiere, the taster sessions are the right place for you. They offer all interested parties the opportunity to get an insight into our program in advance - free of charge! This time: "The Love for Three Oranges", an opera by Sergei Prokofiev, which celebrates its premiere on September 13 in the main auditorium of the Stadttheater.

About the play:
The king is in despair because his son has an incurable illness: he cannot laugh. Everything is tried to bring joy back into his life. A mishap by the evil sorceress Fata Morgana, of all people, finally makes the prince laugh his heart out - and brings him a curse. He is to fall in love with three oranges, each containing a princess. All kinds of strange, magical, absurd - and of course comical - things await the prince on his journey. Sergei Prokofiev's brilliant and lively music unfolds a colorful entertainment spectacle that combines fairy tales with satire and subtle humor.
