This visually stunning classic opened up a completely new viewing and listening experience in 1982. With spectacular tracking shots and nature footage, this documentary shows the beauty of nature as well as its destruction by civilization and can also be considered the first film about the Anthropocene. Named after the Hopi word for "life out of balance, crazy life", the film has achieved cult status with its atmospheric music by Philipp Glass.
