ØKSE are an international supergroup of renowned jazz musicians who dare to walk a musical tightrope between experimental jazz and hip-hop on their eponymous debut album from 2024.

ØKSE 's eponymous debut album was released in 2024 on the renowned hip-hop label Backwoodz. It is a bold, experimental jazz project with contributions from some of hip-hop's most unique voices. The band itself is an international all-star team consisting of New York-based drummer Savannah Harris, Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen, Haitian electronic musician Val Jeanty and Swede Petter Eldhon on bass, synthesizer and sampler. Each of them is already established as a solo artist, but together as ØKSE they are breaking new ground and moving on the fringes of genres.

ØKSE means AXE in Danish. The axe has many connotations as it is one of mankind's oldest tools. Axe is also Ashe, the life force that permeates all things, living and inanimate. Ashe is a current or flow, a channel that initiates can channel to carry them on their life path. These are the energies that flow through ØKSE and animate their debut album and live performance.
