The multicultural jazz ensemble Kuhn Fu will be performing at Villa Sponte, Osterdeich 59b, on Friday, May 23, at 8 pm.

Not only the band name is martial. In their "Jazz Punk Psychedelia", Berlin guitarist and emcee Christian Kühn's band Kuhn Fu turns everything through the improvisational wolf. Zappa meets cabaret, surf sounds and metal riffs ride the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, while Shakespeare, Brecht and Monty Python are the inspiration.

Kuhn Fu celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023: The double album "Jazz is Expensive/Live in Saalfelden" and the "Tantalos Nonett" EP were released by the Bremen label Berthold Records. "Tantalos" was nominated for the German Jazz Award 2023 in the composition category. After over four hundred concerts in twenty-four countries, their sixth studio album "Katastrofik Kink" has now been released. Kuhn Fu consists of the Berlin guitarist Christian Kühn, the Argentinian saxophonist Sofia Salvo, the Turkish-Dutch bassist Esat Ekincioglu and the English drummer George Hadow.
