KUKII & Howie Lee: Finissage Performance

On the occasion of the finissage of Laure Prouvost: WE FELT A STAR DYING, the singer, producer and composer of the soundscape of the installation KUKII (formerly Lafawndah) and her artistic partner Howie Lee will perform a musical ceremony. The audience is invited to participate by singing and moving.

For the soundscape, KUKII used found recordings of traditional chants from different regions of the world. She ran these sounds through a specially developed quantum AI model and interwove the resulting textures with refrains and lyrics by Prouvost and Paul Buck. The melodies were composed as if they were in the process of becoming form - a parallel to emerging quantum technology.

The performance translates the spatially dispersed textures and melodies of the soundscape into a collaborative experience that spans two floors of the Kraftwerk. KUKII and Howie Lee collaborate with a live wind ensemble, a choir and the audience to embody fragility, indeterminacy and interconnectivity - concepts that also characterize quantum phenomena.
