Our world is colorful.

It is enriched by many different cultures. This also includes different delicious cuisines. "Have you tasted all these yet?"

In order to protect precisely this diversity on earth, we must also pay attention to our environment. Sustainability plays a major role in this. Tons of food is thrown away every day because it is not pretty enough for the supermarket or is simply not used up. At "Kultur schmeckt!", delicious meals are prepared for visitors from ingredients that are still in good condition and have been saved. Because even if the vegetables aren't quite in shape - they taste good!

So let the young people involved in the "Kultur schmeckt!" project and the participating volunteers take you on a great journey of food cultures at the Mohr Villa. Discover how rescued food is turned into delicious dishes! Together, we will cook fresh, sustainable and, above all, delicious meals for the project's visitors at the Mohr Villa. The dishes are predominantly vegetarian.

Culture tastes good! Winning project

The Mohr-Villa and the Kultur schmeckt! team about the award from Children for a Better World e.V. The children's aid organization chose the project, which uses rescued food for cooking, as the winning project in its annual competition. Together with the other candidates in the TOP 8, Kultur schmeckt! was one of the winners in 2023 - from a pool of 70 funded projects in total. The project team was invited to a five-day camp in Berlin.

The cooking project was also nominated for the German Engagement Award 2023!
