We are world champions! We have won! We were pope!
Wanting to belong corresponds to the need to experience a firm bond, a sense of security and is therefore a basic need for many people. In a group, the individual blurs into the masses - through shared rituals, attitudes or any commonalities in the family, club, groups of friends or other groups, we feel secure and form our social identity here. Among children and young people, there is a great need to belong to a group, perhaps more than ever.

Which groups are important to them? What reasons do they choose to feel they belong to a group? How much effort is made to feel that they belong somewhere? Who is allowed to belong and who is not? And what actually becomes of the individual in a group?
In view of an increasingly diverse society, groupings should be questioned in order to prevent exclusion. How can different needs be met in different groups without devaluing the needs of other people?
