Serge, a doctor and art lover, has bought himself an expensive painting: "An oil painting of about one meter sixty by one meter twenty, all in white"! He proudly presents it to his two best friends Marc and Yvan. But what can you say when your best friend has spent a fortune on an all-white painting with nothing else on it?

Marc is horrified by the expensive purchase, doubts his friend Serge's state of mind and feels provoked by him at the same time. Yvan, on the other hand, is more preoccupied with his own impending wedding and tries to show solidarity with Serge, but also doesn't want to spoil things with Marc - an impossibility. Inevitably, there is a bitter exchange between the three friends, in which the picture quickly becomes a minor matter and all the unsaid things that have been bubbling under the surface of their friendship for a long time suddenly come to light in an absurd way.

As we all know, art is debatable. But the fact that many a work of art can also put long-standing friendships to the test and that the whole thing is, above all, terribly funny is proven by the successful French author Yasmina Reza in her sharp-witted hit comedy Kunst.
