Art for cash - open air
Summer, sun, art for cash!
In beautiful weather, we invite you to experience Düsseldorf's unique open stage under an open-air tent.
"Kunst gegen Bares" is basically the Muppet Show, only with people instead of pigs, frogs, dogs and bears. All according to Uncle Kermit's motto: "Take what you've got and fly with it!"
The idea is that each artist receives a piggy bank into which the audience throws money after the performance. The only basis for assessment is the taste and wealth of the individual audience members. Nevertheless, "Art for Cash", although it relies on direct payment by the audience, has not degenerated into a shallow entertainment machine. On the contrary: even the unwieldy and the edgy are enthusiastically appreciated and rewarded. After all, the audience is better than its reputation!
The seven rules for "art for cash":
1. spectators and artists come the same way and sit together in the audience.
2. the artists are brought on stage from the audience by the presenter.
3. the presentation time must be equally limited for all artists
4. each artist receives a piggy bank after the presentation.
5. the audience is asked to reward the art they have experienced by putting money into the respective piggy banks.
6. 100% of the money in the piggy banks goes to the artists.
7. the artist with the most money is crowned "Capitalist Pig of the Evening".
