Guided tour through "Vier auf einen Strich" with the participating artist Katia Fouquet

With its SchreibZeit grant, the Lower Saxony Foundation specifically promotes diverse literary voices and genres that tell the stories of a changing society. After Intercultural Literature and Poetry in the Digital Age, the 2024 funding focus was on graphic novels.

The exhibition in the guest rooms now shows the wide range of this genre and invites you to get to know four extraordinary artists and their works: Joris Bas Backer takes viewers into the creative process, Katia Fouquet translates her personal family history into pictures, E. S. Glenn's works captivate with their liveliness and Oliver Grajewski works with an artistic intervention in the existing exhibition.

About the artist:

Katia Fouquet is a comic author and freelance illustrator. In her artistic work, she deals with stereotypical images and roles and questions social conditions. In her current graphic novel "The Etcher", she researches the hidden Nazi biography of her grandfather and the traumatic effects on her mother and grandmother, which begin with his return from captivity as a prisoner of war.
