Künstlerrundgang mit Tomás Maglione

Tomás Maglione's artistic practice encompasses moving image, sculpture, drawing and photography, as well as interventions in urban space. His work is significantly characterized by a sensitive attention to the specific sensual qualities of environments and their inherent social and political dynamics. The artist traces fundamental phenomena and concepts of the living world such as movement, light or time and addresses social moments of inclusion and exclusion, the simultaneity of different life realities as well as value and power relations. The dialogical tour with the artist provides an opportunity to learn more about Maglione's works in the exhibition and their background.

Tomás Maglione (*1985 Buenos Aires) studied film at the University Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires with Martín Rejtman and completed his studies in fine arts at the Städelschule Frankfurt a. M. in Hassan Khan's class in 2023. Most recently, he has had solo exhibitions at Galerie Parisa Kind, Frankfurt a. M., Galería Ruth Benzacar, Buenos Aires, and Neuer Kunstverein Gießen. Maglione's works have also been presented in institutions and at festivals such as the BienalSur and the Museo Moderno in Buenos Aires. The artist has participated in international residency programs and received various grants and scholarships, including a recent scholarship from Künstlerhilfe Frankfurt e.V. He is currently conceiving a film festival for people who identify as "foreigners" in Germany. He lives and works in Berlin.
