Kunstmeile Hamburg x International Summer Festival
Oona Doherty - Performance Program
Free admission
An all-day performance program in all six venues of the Kunstmeile Hamburg in cooperation with the International Summer Festival Kampnagel.
Oona Doherty (*1986) has become a star of the European dance scene with an intense movement language and choreographies that show a departure from a crisis-ridden world. After being awarded the Silver Lion at the 2021 Venice Biennale and several summer festival appearances, most recently in 2022 with the world premiere of NAVY BLUE, the Northern Irish choreographer is now performing in all six venues of the Kunstmeile Hamburg. These showcase the full range of her artistic work, which includes dance, theater, music and art. Doherty relates parts of her previous works to the individual venues and initiates a choreographic dialog with the visual arts, which the audience can explore throughout the day in all the Kunstmeile venues: from feminist responses to Hans Makart's salon paintings in the Kunsthalle, a duet to the expansive works of Katharina Grosse in the Deichtorhallen to a large final choreography in the Kunstverein.
At the summer festival, Doherty can be seen not only in cooperation with the Hamburger Kunstmeile but also with her latest stage work SPECKY CLARK and an installation in the Kampnagel Vorhalle.
