Kunstspäti: Who put the muse in the museum?

In the organizer's words:

A glance at a collection of paintings reveals the names of many great artists as well as magnificent paintings of undressed women. But why is this the case and how do we view the relationship between artist and muse in classical collections today? Under the motto Who put the muse in the museum? job&jungekunstfreunde would like to get to the bottom of these and other questions about the history of (feminist) art history.

What is an art späti?

Since October 2015, jungekunstfreunde and job&kunstfreunde have been offering the Kunstspäti, an event format that allows our guests to visit the museums after regular opening hours. Once a quarter, usually on the third Thursday of the month, we alternate between the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum and the Museum Ludwig from 18:00 - 22:00. Our Kunstspätis offer a varied program of short guided tours and hands-on activities, as well as drinks and music in the museum foyer.
