Kuratorinnenführung durch die Ausstellung "Rosa Tharrats: We Are Full of Winds and Sea and Solar Threads"

In the organizer's words:

We Are Full of Winds and Sea and Solar Threads is the first solo exhibition by Catalan artist Rosa Tharrats in a German institution. The Kunsthalle Münster becomes the stage for her immersive installation Vestir el viento (2025), which means something like "dressing the wind". A play with the elements that turns the exhibition space with all its own qualities into a place of experience, inviting us to rethink our own relationship with the world and to recognize the inherent value of each element as a constant reminder of the cycles of life.

The basic outline of the installation was created during Tharrat's voyage on an expedition ship to the South Sandwich Islands in the sub-Antarctic South Atlantic. In contact with nature, in cooperation with the wind, a large part of the flags were developed, which are stretched out in the Kunsthalle or hang limply from the ceiling, surrendering to gravity. Her film The underwater divines are flying and floating and melting with us (2025), which premieres in the exhibition, was also created on this journey.

In the guided tour, Merle Radtke, director of the Kunsthalle Münster and curator of the exhibition, will provide a deeper insight into the exhibition and the work of the Catalan artist.
