Impressive steel giants dock and leave Bremerhaven every day. Here, the romance of seafaring blurs with the international flow of goods. But seafaring also has its downsides: high levels of physical and mental stress or precarious working conditions are part of everyday life for people on board merchant ships.

The port tour KURSWECHSEL puts the working world of seafarers on the radar. It takes a look at the history of the port and sheds light on today's structural grievances in the shipping industry.
