Seventeen-year-old Toni spends the evening with his friends in the clubhouse. They drink, stalk each other and expose each other. Everything as usual. As the evening progresses and he watches an older couple dancing, Toni begins to wonder what he really wants.

Director Annika Mayer goes in search of clues, interviewing her grandmother Rose about old family Super8 recordings from the 50s and 60s. Behind the façade, memories emerge, fragments of a bygone era that still lingers on. Through Rose's stories, the image of post-war West German family happiness is dismantled piece by piece over the course of the film.
