On October 10 and 11, 2025, the KURZstummfilmfestival celebrates its 10th anniversary at Zeche Carl, Wilhelm-Nieswandt-Allee 100 in Essen.

On Friday, October 10, selected winning films from previous festival years will be screened. Afterwards, the audience and the jury will vote for the best film in the festival's history. Admission is from 18:30, the screenings start at 19:00.
On Saturday, October 11, the festival will continue in its usual form: 20 new short silent films between one and eleven minutes in length will be presented - created by filmmakers from Germany and abroad. Admission is from 15:30.

The jury, consisting of deaf and hearing people, will award a jury prize. In addition, audience prizes will be awarded on both days - because the audience also has a voice. The official organizer is the Evangelische Jugend Essen with the Diakoniewerk Essen. The main sponsor is the Inge Severin Foundation. The festival is supported by the Evangelisches Kinder- und Jugendhaus Buschhütte and, of course, the Zeche Carl.
