The elaborate WDR radio drama production "Kyllroth", which takes a true series of murders in (post-)World War II Hungary as its model and relocates the events to the Eifel region in 1917, proves how well serialized storytelling works exclusively on an audio level. Here, several war returnees mysteriously die, which the locals blame on the legendary Maar witch. However, it soon becomes clear that the women who had become independent during the war years may have simply taken a liking to their new self-determination and the odd foreign prisoner of war.
