The earth trembles and lava creeps its way. Carmen works her family's land alone. Her sisters Elsa and Maura come to visit her on the Canary Island of La Palma to divide the inherited land between them. In a well-tempered interplay of staged shots and intimate documentary glimpses, the film allows the bodies of the three women to merge with their surroundings. Their faces reflect memories, unresolvable conflicts, affection and the passing of time in equal measure. Over the course of the film, the sisters' different perspectives and realities of life create a mosaic-like picture: a poetic, emotional narrative about the lives, bodies and home of the siblings.
