Sonic Hypnosis & In Orbit presents
with Rote Sonne & Optimal Records:
Laetitia Sadier
Support: Pink Shabab
Feb 14th
Laetitia Sadier has never shied away from the hard topics, be it in her solo work or decades long involvement in Stereolab. On Rooting For Love, she fully engages her process of expression as well as orchestration, showcasing her spiritual, scientific and sociopolitical inquiries. The album is a reminder of music being a people in critical mass, in addition to an evolution that continues to deepen the rich harmonic fields in which Laetitia plays. Past wounds are addressed again and again in the libretto, as the music provides a transformational balm to aid the healing process.
The music of British bassist and multi-instrumentalist Joseph Carvell, alias Pink Shabab, often has a correspondingly nostalgic feel: There are echoes of 80s soft pop, Chicago house or chillwave, sticky synths and occasional falsetto vocals.
