Lange Nacht der Literatur. Zwei Sommer in den Rockies

In the organizer's words:

After the tragic accidental death of Verena's partner and Analena's father, both their lives are turned upside down. Together, the now single mother and her daughter set off on a hiking trip in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Analena is in no mood and Verena can't get enough of hiking: Where might this path lead? What might be around the next bend?

They fight their way through snowstorms, over mountain passes and scree slopes, have bear encounters in the wild and complete grueling multi-day tours.

Every day, the two of them experience both overload and excitement, frustration and joy together, adjust to each other and share their grief. In the backcountry of Western Canada, far away from their everyday lives at home, their warm and affectionate relationship brings them even closer together.
