Langer Donnerstag im Museum Ludwig: Kommt spielen!

In the organizer's words:

We invite you to a playful evening in the exhibition "Francis Alÿs - Kids Take Over". 30 video works and paintings by the renowned artist show children from all over the world playing, jumping rope, chasing tires or having snowball fights - in different climate zones, in cities and in the countryside, in steppes or forests. Some games are familiar to us all, others take a while to figure out the rules.

50 schoolchildren from Cologne have designed a game zone and a children's museum for the exhibition. They selected works of art from the museum's collection for the children's museum they curated. Their museum and the free play zone are an experiment by children for children: they comment on the paintings, sculptures and video works from their perspective and invite you to look and join in. Adults also have fun here and gain a new perspective on art. The play zone can be used!

On this evening, actors Britta Weyers and Helmut Wenderoth offer you a playful approach to the exhibition. Let yourself be surprised, watch, play along.

In a drop-in workshop, you can get creative yourself and design art in a playful way.
