LARIZA & Searching for Home - Live in der Kunstbar Köln

Excitement, soundscapes and a concentrated load of energy: LARIZA and Searching for Home are coming to the Kunstbar. Two bands - one from Cologne, one from Leipzig - who bring jazz into the 21st century in completely different ways and have won over the juries of prestigious awards. Massive grooves and driving patterns meet hybrid soundscapes, virtuoso solos and cross-genre compositions. Make sure you don't miss this encounter.

LARIZA:

The band Lariza, consisting of singer Lena-Larissa Senge (German Jazz Award 2023 / Luah), saxophonist Lorenz Schönle, guitarist Raissa Mehner, bassist Duy Luong and drummer Lukas Schwegmann, creates an enchanted world of acoustic and electronic sounds. The five musicians invite you on a sonic journey that is always about pouring the freedom of improvisation into unconventional songs and exploiting the wealth of sonic possibilities. Sensitivity, complexity and topicality are the focus of the joint creative process. Lariza form their own version of contemporary jazz from elements of jazz, pop, fusion and experimental music.

Searching for Home:

Searching for Home, the band collective with musicians and producers from all over Germany, overruns clubs and festivals with great sound, enormous joy of playing and fat beats, without missing out on richness of color and fragile moments. (Sparda Jazz Award 2023 / Jazzfruit Award 2023) Led by the versatile voice of singer Ida, the musicians' collective sense for the moment and the audience is particularly impressive alongside their flashes of solo creativity. With influences ranging from jazz and funk to indie rock, classical and world music, you could accuse them of not knowing what they want. But here the opposite is the case: they know exactly what they want, they simply don't want to leave anything behind on their journey.
