The music of Henry Purcell is some of the most beautiful music of the Baroque period. This atmospheric night concert features some of his 'greatest hits', including "Music for a While" and "An Evening Hymn" as well as duets from the opera "The Fairy-Queen". Interspersed pieces from the 20th and 21st centuries provide atmospheric contrasts. The tenor Jacob Lawrence, one of the most distinguished singers on the baroque scene, performs together with the soprano Viola Blache, the gambist Liam Byrne and the harpsichordist Elina Albach. They have been working on innovative baroque projects in the CONTINUUM ensemble for years.
