Musical road movie on the trail of the historical migration routes of Sinti and Roma.

In eight musical episodes, from summer to fall and winter to spring, "Lacho Drom" - which means "good journey" - follows the historical route taken by the Roma, from the deserts of Rajasthan to Les-Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer on the Mediterranean. In each new country, new musical styles, new songs and dances emerged, illustrating the Roma's very own cultural values.
Gatlif, a Kabyle-Rom native from Algeria, proves to be an authentic expert, especially when it comes to portraying the Roma communities living in the Mediterranean region. While showing his protagonists as humanistic, realistic and positive figures, he produced a quasi-anthropological and ethnomusical show in the road movie genre.
