Laura Folkers CD-Release

Singer-songwriter Laura Folkers blends pop, jazz and folk elements with expressive harmonies and rhythms. In her heartfelt and lively songs, Laura Folkers tells of experiences, thoughts, observations and "everything that wants to be expressed through music". You can hear pure joy and beauty, but also a tendency towards the mystical and melancholy. She performs solo, as a duo with percussionist Anton Thelemann or with a four-piece band. A typical feature is performing with her nylon acoustic guitar, which is the source of most of her song ideas.
At the beginning of this year, Laura Folkers completed her studies in pop and world music with classical music (majoring in singing) at the Rostock University of Music and Drama. She now lives back in her adopted home of Halle (Saale).

"Music and songwriting have always been great ways for me to express myself, process emotions or communicate. I spent a lot of time at music school as a child and also spent a lot of time with my instruments (singing, guitar, piano). I still experiment and improvise a lot and observe which themes want to come out. That's how most of my songs are created."
