Etienne Minoungou is on a quest. He wants to understand the state of the world - and change it. After Aimée Césaire and Sony Labou Tansi, the artist is now exploring the visions of Édouard Glissant together with the author Felwine Sarr. In order to avoid the deep insecurity triggered in us by the unspeakable surprises in the world, the philosopher Glissant advocated a world view of unpredictability. He called it the creolization of the world, whose secret lies in its own change, but in which one nevertheless remains authentic with oneself and credible.

Minoungou chooses dialogue and direct engagement with the audience to reinterpret the works and utopian ideas of Édouard Glissant in the context of today's global events. Through his immediate style of performance-enhanced by brilliant musical interludes-we are each personally addressed and profoundly included.

Édouard Glissant (*1928 in Bézaudin, Martinique; † 2011 in Paris) was a French writer, philosopher and one of the intellectual pioneers of postcolonial theories of identity and culture. Étienne Minoungou, is one of the defining personalities of Burkinabe theater.
