Are you also annoyed by all the cars, and perhaps even by your own car, which you wanted to get rid of long ago but still need? More and more traffic and parked cars are clogging up the streets, and this is considered completely normal. Family, work, vacation and weekend shopping - everything only works by car. Why is that the case? And can it be changed? Andreas Knie, one of Germany's best-known mobility researchers, shows that this "success" is based on many years of state subsidies. There are now too many vehicles, and as a result the car is increasingly losing its actual function: it is becoming impractical and is in the process of being phased out.
