Quick-witted, style-conscious, queer: Lena Cassel has made a name for herself in the male-dominated world of soccer: she was a striker for SV Allner-Bödingen, SC Fortuna Köln and Türkiyemspor Berlin. She worked for Sportschau and as a reporter, including for stern TV. She presented HerthaTV and was part of the ZDF "Fußball-Talk" in the Mainz basement. All in all, Lena Cassel has illuminated and understood the game from a wide variety of perspectives.

In "Aufstiegskampf - vom Seitenrand in die Primetime", Cassel talks about growing up in a small village in North Rhine-Westphalia, the highs and lows of her life as a player and journalist, and her current role as a pioneer in sports journalism. The book is an inspiring mixture of personal biography and social reflection - humorous, direct and full of passion for soccer and the issues it raises.

In May 2025, the successful presenter (Prime Video and DAZN) and podcast host of "Fussball MML Daily" and "Playing Dirty - Sport und Verbrechen" will go on a reading tour through five German cities with her first book. With her charisma and openness, she provides authentic insights into her moving story: her journey as a woman in a male-dominated sports world, her experiences in professional soccer and her fight for equal rights and inclusion.
