Lisa, an aspiring singer, has to support her family after her parents' farm is forced to close, and works in the ultra-modern "urban farm" of a Palestinian family, which is subject to many prejudices in the conservative small town. Lisa is not free of this either - but falls head over heels in love with her boss Dalia, a deep but complicated passion. However, Dalia is soon to marry her childhood sweetheart, and Lisa is confronted with the imminent death of her father as well as the narrow-minded attitude of her family...
This romantic drama was partly based on director Shamim Sarif's own experiences and her 27-year relationship with her partner (who co-produced the film). A powerfully acted film, an ode to the freedom of honest feelings and at the same time a deeply emotional outcry against racism and intolerance.
