Live talk to the USA for Lesbian Visibility Weeks 2025

The Trump administration's policies are having drastic consequences for coexistence and the rights of minorities within US society.

What does this mean in concrete terms for lesbian and queer life in the USA?

We are pleased about the continuous, intensive exchange with our colleagues from the Indiana Youth Group (IYG), the committed (and only) contact point for queer young people in Cologne's US partner city Indianapolis and the surrounding area in the US state of Indiana.

The IYG has already had a difficult time counseling and supporting queer youth who have been discriminated against and marginalized.

What has happened especially in the last few months since the presidential election at the end of 2024?

IYG co-leaders Shelly Fitzgerald and Whitney Morris-Lange, live from Indianapolis, report on their massively difficult day-to-day work, the realities of life for systematically marginalized young people and adults, and look forward to an open and solidary dialogue.
