Searching for clues in Israel
Tel Aviv 2008: After the death of her grandmother, young radio journalist Mia faces a turning point. Her station sends her to Tel Aviv. Here she meets cameraman David, the son of Polish-Bulgarian Jews. It is love at first sight. But David is married and has a daughter whom he has recently adopted.
With David, Mia slowly confronts her own family history, especially the loss of her mother, which happened to her when she was seven years old. Far away from home, Mia searches for answers to questions that have accompanied her since childhood, hoping for a reconciliation with the past. In the ever-threatened country of Israel and in love with a man, she searches for her place in order to fill the void left by her mother.

Christiane Wirtz, born in 1970, studied law in Berlin. She worked as a journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk. She worked as a freelance journalist in Tel Aviv for a year. From 2014 to 2016, she was deputy spokesperson for the German government. She then moved to the Federal Ministry of Justice as State Secretary. She has been working as a freelance journalist and author again since 2020. Christiane Wirtz lives in Berlin.
