Lesung "dem mond geht es gut" von Paulina Czienskowski

With the birth of her child, a young woman looks at the world differently. Words fade, while love and fantasies of loss take over her. Only now does she realize how mute her mother and grandmother are in life. How they have neglected to tell their own stories. How questions about belonging and ruptures constantly seep in. She approaches the speechless riddles with a fumbling precision, sensually and relentlessly tracing their lives amidst the fog of their memories. After all, how can a child know where it is going if it doesn't know where it came from? In her new novel, Paulina Czienskowski shows in cyclical movements what it means to become an echo - three women, three mothers and a new life that reveals itself as if everything were lined with mirror foil.

Paulina Czienskowski is a freelance journalist and author. She lives in Berlin, where she was born and grew up. She lived in the USA and Paris and studied in a small town in Germany before returning to her home country for a traineeship at a journalism school. Her debut novel "Taubenleben" was published by Blumenbar in 2020.
