Adrian Draschoff reads from his book "The Seven Doors" on February 10. Dubbed the "gift book of the year" (2024) by the press. He will be accompanied by soft piano music. Together with the pictures by Natascha Baumgärtner, it will be a journey for several senses.

The reading is for a good cause and 100% of the proceeds (admission on a donation basis) will go to the Kölner Kinderhospizverein e.v.

Life is neither one thing nor the other, but the incomprehensible miracle in between.

The seven doors begin with a glow. It finds itself in nothingness, in the endless darkness. Alone. Until a small caterpillar joins it, leading the glow to seven doors. It is allowed to take a brief look behind each of these doors - the greatest polarities of this universe are hidden behind them. The glow encounters light and darkness, love and hate, fear and courage, happiness and sadness, the now and infinity and the great, all-embracing universe and nothingness. Life and death are hidden behind the last door. And now the glow has to make a decision: Will it grow into an omniscient great star that shines in the firmament until the end of time? Or will it forget everything it has just learned, step through the last door and experience everything for itself as a human being?

The Seven Doors is a wise, poetic story with deep insights and powerful images - a moving declaration of love for humanity.
