In the organizer's words:

"How much of yourself is left when you lose everything?"
A literary evening about love, identity - and the courage to stand up again.

To mark Pride Month, KOOS Bowls & Bar will be reading from the queer novel "How to Ruin Your Life in Second Position" by Jade Harris. The narrator Nici takes us back to New York in the early 2000s - right into the world of ballet, between career, loss of control and inner turmoil.

At the center is Noah Zheng, celebrated star dancer at the New York City Ballet, whose life is thrown out of sync after an injury. A story about self-destruction, queer identity, anorexia, family conflicts - and a love that oscillates between closeness and distance.

A moving, sensitive novel that deals with topics that are rarely told so openly and directly, with great depth and emotionality.
