We cordially invite you to a reading of "Lonely Hearts Club" with author Nasanin Kamani.

Talented music student Clara feels lonely. A stay in a psychiatric ward is supposed to help her deal with depressive episodes. Here she joins the Lonely Hearts Club, a meeting place for patients that soon becomes a safe haven for her.

Emilian, called Milly, spends his last year at school on the rugged French coast and meets Clara. A stormy love story begins. Although they are like fire and water, they have one thing in common: their difficult parental relationship. But while Milly has found a healthy way of keeping her distance, Clara has not. The more joie de vivre Milly brings into Clara's cool world, the more she wants to be happy too. But one thoughtless act jeopardizes everything ...

Nasanin Kamani is a doctor and author and has twice been awarded the Walter Kempowski Literary Prize for short stories. Her narrative non-fiction book "Date Education" was published in 2022. She has appeared several times on radio, TV and in magazines as an expert on the psyche and relationships. Her second book "Lonely Hearts Club" is expected to be published by GU Verlag in May 2025.

The reading with Nasanin Kamani will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 7 pm at Forough Buchhandlung, Jahnstraße 24 in Cologne. The entrance fee is 7 euros. Anahita Redisiu will moderate the event.
