Lesung: Mithu Sanyal mit "Antichristie"

London 2022, the Queen is dead! Running past the mourners is Durga: an international screenwriter, daughter of an Indian and a German, and full of an appetite for rebellion and hallucinations. Durga is to work on a film adaptation of the super-British Agatha Christie detective stories. But suddenly it is 1906, Durga finds herself in the body of a man and meets Indian revolutionaries who are by no means fighting non-violently like Gandhi.

About the author:
Mithu Sanyal, born in Düsseldorf in 1971, is a cultural scientist, author, journalist and critic. Her non-fiction book "Vulva. The Invisible Sex" was published in 2009, followed by "Rape. Aspekte eines Verbrechens" in 2016. Her debut novel "Identitti" was published in 2021 and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. It received the Ruhr Literature Prize and the Ernst Bloch Prize 2021 and deals with identity politics. In "Antichristie", Sanyal broadens her focus and asks about the effects of colonialism and violence in all of us.
