First German translation of the essay Pourquoi je ne suis pas féministe, published in France in 1928.

Here, the French writer Rachilde takes a provocative and humorous look at the feminism of her era. Using the examples of education, training, religion, love and fashion, she analyzes the lives of women at the time, and in particular of women writers, the "femmes de lettres". She is amused by women who drink and smoke like men, have their hair cut short and wear pants. But all this is not without self-irony: at the beginning of her career - at the end of the 19th century! - the author also disguised herself as a man. When the essay was published, Rachilde was 68 years old and had long been a successful writer and literary critic.
