Lesung: Orte der Revolte – West-Berlin in den 60er und 70ern. Auf radikale Spurensuche

Oliver Hölcke will be reading from his recently completed city book "Orte der Revolte - West Berlin" at the Berliner Geschichtswerkstatt.
The author has compiled 27 places, addresses and squares in West Berlin where stories about the student movement and its radical offshoots took place between the mid-1960s and 70s. Where were which actions planned and who met with whom and where to implement what?

What began with protests from the student movement in the mid-1960s at the FU and TU Berlin changed the social system of the Federal Republic of Germany over the years. The roots of this revolt lie in West Berlin, especially in Charlottenburg and Schöneberg. The book attempts to capture the period, characterized by aggression and change, with short and concise descriptions of the residential buildings, places and squares.

The author will read from some of the chapters and looks forward to a lively discussion about the period.

The book will be available in bookstores in November 2024.
