With "RESET - Die Wahrheit stirbt zuerst" , Peter Grandl presents an explosive social thriller that questions the digital foundations of our present - and is also a homage to Goethe's Faust.

The novel is set in a near future in which it is almost impossible to distinguish between reality and manipulation. A digital attack shakes the global information system: voices, images, news - everything can be faked, even reputable media doubt the authenticity of their content. In this scenario, the novel follows four main characters as they try to find their bearings and preserve the truth in different parts of the world - and encounter far more than just technical threats in the process.

RESET is more than just a fast-paced thriller: the text refers to classical motifs and deliberately draws on Goethe's Faust. Several central characters in the novel - including Dr. Dorn and Margaret - are clearly inspired by the famous model. Grandl also makes a connection in terms of content: The story follows the Gretchen tragedy in parts and thematizes Faust's central motif - the restless, doubting man in search of knowledge and control.

Peter Grandl lives near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. His debut novel Turmschatten won several awards and was made into a film series by Paramount+ in 2023. His subsequent novels have also won over both the press and the public. With RESET, he has created a work that combines social and literary depth - in a narrative style that entertains and challenges at the same time.
