Henning and his daughter Mai are struggling with the consequences of a serious riding accident. When Mai suddenly disappears, Henning's desperate search leads him to Finland, to a place near the Russian border where Mai spent the first years of her life. There he discovers a deeply hidden family secret that forces him to confront his own past.

The journey becomes a metaphor for the search for identity and forgiveness. Old wounds open up while new connections are forged. In the midst of family conflicts and personal failure, it becomes clear that true healing is only possible if you accept and let go of your own mistakes.
