From the perspective of three generations of women, "Wie du mich ansiehst" sensitively explores the relationship between mothers and daughters, female ageing and the endurance of contradictions.

Karl left two things to his daughter Johanna: His beloved, overgrown garden - and a deep worry line on his forehead that just won't go away. Johanna wants to keep the garden, but she wants the worry line to go: for the first time in her life, she has "something done" and is fascinated by how seemingly easy it is to erase the upheavals of a forty-year life.

Eva Lohmann, born in 1981, lives with her daughter in Hamburg and works as a freelance author. Her debut novel "Acht Wochen verrückt" and her non-fiction book "So schön still. Die Stärke introvertierter Kinder und Eltern" ("The strength of introverted children and parents") attracted a lot of press coverage and were Spiegel bestsellers. Eva Lohmann writes for magazines such as Emotion, Eltern and Brigitte. "Wie du mich ansiehst" is her new novel following the great success of "Das leise Platzen unserer Träume".
