The 1960s are also a decade full of upheaval in the United States of America. The 19-year-old Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet) is also swept up in the maelstrom of upheaval. He has long since left his home in Minnesota behind him and is now making music in what feels like the hub of the world: New York City. There, in the West Village, he lets himself be carried away by the music with his guitar and plenty of talent in his luggage. It is precisely this talent that is quickly making the rounds. However, Dylan thinks little of pigeonholing. He is a stranger to the folk movement and does not want to be pigeonholed by it. He wants to go his own way and gather real friends around him on his inevitable path to the top. Some see him as a ricochet who simply wants to go against the grain musically, others see him as a brilliant artist. In any case, a new era seemed to begin when he suddenly appeared on stage with an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
