Lil Yachty , one of the new leading figures on the US rap scene, will be coming to Germany for two shows and another to Austria at the end of the year. The rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer from Atlanta, Georgia, has released five studio albums to date. His latest, "Let's Start Here", was released at the end of January and shows a new side to him: it is a psychedelic alternative rock album with rap influences. Despite this new stylistic direction, it was highly successful right from the start: it rose to the top of the US rock/alternative charts, to number 9 on the US Billboard charts and collected over 60 million streams in its first two months. Lil Yachty will be touring Europe with this album at the end of the year and will be playing two German concerts in Berlin and Cologne on November 27 and 28 as well as a show in Vienna on December 17.

When Miles Parks McCollum uploaded his first track "One Night" to SoundCloud at the end of 2015, he was a university dropout with a vague dream of becoming a rap star. He joined Atlanta's burgeoning Quality Control family, gaining experience along the way with countless guest features, including on the two US Top 10 hits "iSpy" alongside Kyle and "Broccoli" alongside DRAM (which earned him his first Grammy nomination and nearly 800 million Spotify streams to date).

Meanwhile, he has become one of the most prolific names on the US rap scene. Over the past eight years, Lil Yachty has released five albums, four mixtapes and eleven EPs that showcase his entire range of hip-hop, trap, pop and mumble rap. With great success: his debut album "Teenage Emotions" climbed to number 5 in the US Billboard charts, the follow-up "Lil Boat 2" even reached number 2. All this with productions that are as minimal as they are playfully innovative, and a voice that oscillates between sensitive and dry immediacy. Around the release of his third album "Nuthin' 2 Prove", Lil Yachty realized that he was maturing from a teenage star to a grown man. The MC, until then known as the "King of the Teens", saw it as his duty to reassess what his enormous worldwide success really meant: namely that rap music can be both good, playfully different and entertaining. The following albums "Lil Boat 3" and the current, heavily psychedelic rock-influenced "Let's Start Here" are the best proof of this.

During all this time, Yachty's life has been in the public eye. He has literally grown up with his fans, often the same age as his most ardent supporters. "With the life I lead, I was forced to mature much faster than my peers," he says. The microscopic attention to his colorful dreads, groundbreaking music and unique perspective in his lyrics made him a mouthpiece for all millenials. "I'm just trying to have a good time," Yachty says today, as a result of several years of introspection. "I didn't get to where I am now because I take everything so seriously. I'm not trying to be someone else."

That's why Lil Yachty is appreciated for who he is - and not what he tries to portray, like so many other rappers. Which is also evident in other areas of business: he has been Creative Director of the fashion brand Nautica since 2016, starred in legendary commercials with LeBron James, Carly Jepsen and Donny Osmond, among others, graced the covers of The FADER, XXL, PAPER Magazine and the Men's Style section of the New York Times, created dozens of viral moments on social media, signed a contract with Reebok and most recently made his film debut with leading roles in "Teen Titans Go! To The Movies" (as superhero Green Lantern) and "How High 2" as central protagonist Roger. With all of these accomplishments and over 2.5 billion streams in his music catalog, Lil Yachty has established himself as a pop culture prodigy with an undeniable presence.
