Reading and discussion with the author Lindita Arapi about home, belonging and equal opportunities - and Albania's longing for Europe.

Lindita Arapi, born in 1972, studied Albanian language and literature at the University of Tirana. After graduating, she received an author scholarship from the Heinrich Böll Foundation. This was followed by a doctorate in cultural studies at the University of Vienna, in which she dealt with the image of Albania in the German-speaking world created by press and book publications. Since 1993, she has published several works that have been translated into several languages. Her novel "Schlüsselmädchen" was published in 2010 and "Albanische Schwestern" in 2023. She was a co-organizer of the call by 100 European intellectuals for the opening of secret service files in Albania in 2015. Lindita Arapi works as a translator and freelance radio editor for Deutsche Welle. She lives in Bonn.
