Literatur & Film: "Über sieben Brücken. Helmut Richter - ein Filmporträt"

Cinema Quadrat and Räuber 77 - Literarisches Zentrum Rhein-Neckar are showing a documentary film in the presence of the director about Helmut Richter, author, poet, lyricist - including the Karat and Maffay hit "Über sieben Brücken":

"Über sieben Brücken musst du gehn", a hit by the GDR rock band Karat that has been translated into 30 languages and is considered a German-German anthem after the cover version by Peter Maffay: It was composed by Karat keyboardist Ulrich "Ed" Swillms at the end of 1977. But who wrote the lyrics? Only a few people know the name, and those who do know the name usually don't know much about the author Helmut Richter: author and lyricist, founder and editor of the magazine "Leipziger Blätter", professor and director of the Leipzig Literature Institute "Johannes R. Becher", winner of the City of Leipzig Art Prize.
The film portrait by author Ralph Grüneberger honors this fighter for literature.
